Hey, I'm Nick.
I co-founded TraderLion and co-authored the Trader's Handbook.
Why weekly charts?
In 2014 I made more than 600 trades and lost 15%. The most frustrating part was knowing I could have just bought the S&P 500, done nothing, and made money.
I spent years refining my process and building a system around who I am. That made me a big believer in less is more.
2014
600+ trades
-15% return
2024
Around 30 trades
+62% return
Now I watch the market and make decisions on weekly charts because they give me fewer chances to get in my own way.
What I believe
- 01
Trade like yourself.
I spent my first five years trying to get better at a strategy that matched someone else. Nothing really changed until the process fit me.
- 02
The more I do, the worse I trade.
At a certain point there's an inverse relationship between activity and results for me.
- 03
Context over setup.
I can see a perfect setup and still have no interest in it if the market around it is a mess.
- 04
Risk is always #1.
I want to know where I'm wrong before I buy. When I take care of the downside first, I give the upside room to take care of itself.
- 05
I don't use charts to predict.
I have no idea what happens next. I know my levels and what would make me wrong.
Dive in
Every Sunday I write a weekly report with my thoughts on the market and what I'm watching for the week ahead. I also share the trading concepts that matter to me and how I look at the market.
